OUR POLICY

In order to protect the Cumberland Economic Resource Centre's CAP Site and our individual users, we require that each user adhear and agree to the following:

  1. Do not bring food or drink into the Access Centre.
     
  2. Keep noise levels to a minimum.
     
  3. Do not use vulgar, obscene, profane, threatening or disrespectful language.
     
  4. Do not harass or invade the privacy of another person. Harassment is persistently acting in a manner that distresses or annoys another person.
     
  5. You are advised, for your protection, not to meet with someone you meet on line.
     
  6. Do not reveal your own or someone else's address or telephone number.
     
  7. Do not disrupt the network or the data of other users.
     
  8. No vandalism. Vandalism is defined as any attempt to harm or destroy data of another user or network. This includes the creation of, or the uploading of, computer viruses into the Internet of host site.
     
  9. Transmission of obscene material is prohibited. Sending or receiving offensive messages or pictures from any source will result in immediate action.
     
  10. You are advised not to communicate any credit card number, bank number, or any other financial information.
     
  11. Do not violate institution or third party copyrights, license agreements or other contracts.
     
  12. Do not use the Internet for illegal purposes.
     
  13. Do not seek to gain unauthorized access to information or files.
     
  14. Do not download or install any new software. Especially not games!
     
  15. Do not hit, punch or swear at the computers. If you have problems, please notify the site administrator.
     
  16. No hacking, cracking or reconfiguring the computers.
     
  17. Do not share member privileges with non-members.
     
  18. We are not responsible for the supervision and safety of children brought to the Access Centre.
     
  19. The Access Centre does not provide floppy disks and are not responsible for damage incurred.
     
  20. Please respect the rights of others to use the computers and observe time limits as determined by Centre staff.
     
  21. A parent must give written consent for any of their children under the age of 18 to use the computer and accept responsibility for their actions.
     
  22. Users must acknowledge that the Cumberland Community Access Site reserves the right to monitor all traffic in and out of the access point, and review any material or user records to make determinations about whether specific uses are appropriate.
     
  23. Staff will not provide instruction or assist with the alterations of scanned documents.

All of the terms and conditions as stated in this agreement are applicable to all users of the network. The Cumberland Community Access Centre under the direction of CREDA reserves the right to revoke all membership privileges at any time if any of the above policies are not followed. Violators will be given a warning, a suspension and then will be asked to leave. The Cumberland Economic Resource Center's, CAP Site will deem what is appropriate use and our decisions are final.
