The Career Resource Centre will host a two hour Motivational Seminar on career building on Wednesday, August 26th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Tantramar Theatre, 98 Victoria Street in Amherst.

Facilitated by motivational speaker Alain Pelletier, this seminar will focus on networking for job search; goal-setting and perseverance; and strategic decision making. As a resident of Moncton, Alain has come to learn the Atlantic job market and has built this high-energy seminar from personal experiences. He has delivered this workshop at the Université de Moncton, and is now bringing his knowledge to Nova Scotia.

Admission is free but participants are asked to register by calling the Career Resource Centre at 667-3638 or drop in to the CRC at 35 Church Street in Amherst.

The CRC is funded through the Canada-Nova Scotia Labour Market Development Agreement under the direction of Employment Nova Scotia and sponsored by CREDA.

The international spotlight is shining brightly on the Bay of Fundy now that it has been selected as a top 28 finalist in a global campaign to declare the new seven wonders of nature. Bay of Fundy is the only Canadian site to proceed to the final phase in the New7Wonders of Nature contest.

The 28 finalists are now competing by popular vote to become one of the New7Wonders of Nature. Public voting continues throughout 2010 and into 2011. During this time, the New7Wonders World Tour will visit each of the 28 finalists to allow each to present itself to the voters across the globe. The final declaration of the New7Wonders of Nature will be in 2011.

Voters can go to votemyfundy.com to place their vote in this final and important stage of the contest. Over 1 billion people are expected to vote before the campaign ends.

Bay of Fundy Tourism is the Bay of Fundy’s official nominating committee in the New7Wonders of Nature campaign. The mission of the Bay of Fundy Tourism Partnership is to raise the profile of the Bay of Fundy as a Canadian nature tourism icon. This non-profit association is supported by Nova Scotia Tourism, Culture & Heritage; New Brunswick Tourism & Parks; CREDA and other Regional Development Associations around the bay; Tourism Associations; municipalities; and, tourism businesses.
