Biographical sketch: Douglas S. Biggs was an Amherst, Nova Scotia, merchant. He was also a coal supplier and agent for the Shore Coal Company, which was also known as the shore and Kimberly Coal Company. Biggs sold coal to individuals, and larger organizations, such as to Amherst Town offices and to Schools Board. He ran a store which sold stationary items, office supplies, Magazines and newspapers.

Custodial history Contents were donated to the CCMA in 1981 by E.J. Moore, the executor of Douglas S. Biggs estate

Scope and content: Fonds consists of accounts of coal sales, accounts of stationary store, cash books, bank books, correspondence, receipts and books of accounts payable and receivable. most ledgers contain index books.
