Assemblies
On
May 14, 2003
students at
Oxford
Elementary School
participated in
one of 3 nutrition assemblies. A
public health nutritionist conducted the assemblies discussing the
Canada
food guide and
the importance of healthy eating. Students
were asked to draw a picture of their favorite snack which would be included in
a mural to be displayed at the school.
Supermarket
Tour
On
June 5, 2003
home-economics students at
Oxford
Regional
High School
participated in
a supermarket tour at the local Save Easy. A
public health nutritionist conducted the tour which showed students how to read
and interpret nutrition labeling on foods. Hands
on activities were included in the tour.
